Beyoncé didn’t fail to impress her fans as her half-time show hailed as ‘breathtaking’ as well as a ‘masterful’ showcase of her album Cowboy Carter.
The R&B superstar stayed true to her home state of Texas as she delivered a spectacular performance at the Houston’s NRG Stadium.
The 43-year-old, who dropped her highly-anticipated Cowboy Carter on March 29, pulled off an eight-song medley of tracks from her latest album.
The performance, which included a regal appearance from her 12-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, concluded with various dancers and horses.
While many praised the singer for her thoughtful antics, others criticized the show for lack of festive fanfare, referring to it ‘as Christmassy as a Piña Colada on the beach.’
Despite critics branding her cowboy-themed performance as ‘boring’, The Guardian’s Ben Beaumont-Thomas didn’t spare a chance to compliment the singer.
He said of the superstar, “Beyoncé has occasionally been guilty of stiffness or boring regality in live performance, but she noticeably loosened up on the Renaissance world tour and continues to be thrillingly rangy here.”
This comes on the heels of her heartwarming Christmas update as she posted a video of herself wishing her fans on the auspicious occasion.
Meanwhile, she wrote in the caption, “I’m sending you big joy and love on this Cowboy Christmas Eve. I’ll see y’all tomorrow, in my city HTX.”
