Cricket legend MS Dhoni celebrated Christmas with his family, as shared by his wife, Sakshi Singh Dhoni, on social media.
Photographs captured the festive scene, showcasing a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The tree, placed near a window, was adorned with ornaments, white flowers, and a star on top. Numerous gifts, wrapped in colourful paper, surrounded the base of the tree.
MS Dhoni embraced the holiday spirit by dressing up as Santa Claus. He wore a full Santa suit, complete with boots and a long white beard. Dhoni added a touch of whimsy with a pair of sunglasses. Another photo captured a heartwarming moment of Dhoni hugging his daughter.
MS Dhoni holds a unique distinction in cricket history. He is the only captain to have won all three ICC trophies: 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni also led the Indian team to the top of the ICC Test rankings, solidifying his place as one of cricket’s most successful captains.
Dhoni’s leadership extended to franchise cricket, where he captained the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Under his captaincy, CSK reached 10 IPL finals and secured five championships, tying the record for the most IPL titles.
Even after retiring from international cricket on 15 August 2020, Dhoni continued to lead CSK in the IPL. He became a beloved figure among CSK fans, who affectionately call him “Thala.”
Dhoni’s on-field performance has been equally remarkable. In One Day Internationals (ODIs), he scored 10,773 runs in 350 matches at an average of 50.57. This impressive tally includes 10 centuries and 73 half-centuries.
In Test matches, Dhoni accumulated 4,876 runs in 90 matches, averaging 38.09. He also scored six centuries in the longer format of the game.
Dhoni’s T20 International career saw him score 1,617 runs in 98 matches at an average of 37.60.
Dhoni’s wicketkeeping skills are legendary. He is known for his lightning-fast reflexes and has set numerous records. In ODIs, he recorded 256 catches and 38 stumpings.
His Test match wicketkeeping record stands at 444 dismissals, comprising 321 catches and 123 stumpings. In T20 Internationals, Dhoni has 91 dismissals, with 57 catches and 34 stumpings.
